Thanks (again) for your lengthy reply, @strumelia.

My biggest worry is the privacy concern...
I don't want to have to edit everyone's profile accounts on Jamroom prior to inviting them, and info that they were advised would NOT be shared (on Ning) has come through public (on Jamroom).

I will ask Paul. He's on the 'magic wand' team, for sure, so I'll hope for a simpler solution.

Meanwhile, I am more and more pleased with our JamRoom sign-up tweaks, and saying "Thank you!" to you and others here multiple times a day.

a bit confusing, but got me in the right direction.

I've made several edits and you solved my 'didn't get it' issue with how to make some answers visible only to master admin(s).

And best of all, you got me to where I could go to erase the crazy data that was there in my profile.

I'm guessing/hoping that once we go live (because I selected 'all users, even logged out') all 'migrating' Ning to JamRoom site members will see the new profile questions the first time they log in, and that their answers to these new questions will override/erase all their imported answers.

Is that correct?

Or will I somehow have to guide all migrating members to visit their profile pages, click account, and answer the questions? [Please don't say I and they will have to do that.]

You are an angel!

Thank you so much,

Ning To Jamroom

Hello again,
I hope this is an easy one to answer.
I've just been toying with the
(our site)/user/signup
and liking the results!

But... when you visit the profile pages of all of our members, their imported profile info (some of which was 'private', not displayed/shared on Ning) shows on profile pages.

How do we erase all that data?

Apologies if this is answered somewhere that I'm just not seeing,

Private group (puzzle: member cannot edit posts)

Using Jamroom

Awesome! It worked! I changed her membership settings in the private group, which reverted her to pending. Then I approved her again (changed her to active and with option to be able to add pages, add discussions).

Voila! Dilemma no more! She does now see the little 'gearshift' icon, and can edit her posts.

Thank you. This may be closed.

tag creators not able to delete their tags?

This member cannot see the 'x', ever. Not immediately after posting, not on iPad, not on PC, not one minute later, not after refresh, not seeing the option at all.
Attached screenshot shows her quota assignment.

[Should I put in a ticket?]

tag creators not able to delete their tags?

Using Jamroom

from documentation:
Quote: Tags Attached To An Item
Tags attached to an item All of the tags that are added to the item will appear on the item for everyone to see.

The creator of the tag will be able to delete it for an hour after its been created, just in case they make a spelling mistake or tag the wrong thing, but after that the tags can only be removed by the profile owner and the admins.

This is not working for a member of our site.
We are a Ning to Jamroom site, and still in developer mode... does that make a difference?

I have a volunteer doing major tagging for us, and she just does NOT see any little 'x' indicators to allow her to delete 'oops!' / misspelled tags.

Help please?
Thank you ~

What do you love about Jamroom 5 right now?

Off Topic

I love (love!!) the incredibly friendly, swift, and professional support replies... both here and in private support tickets.
I love that when I put in an 'agile' sort of request, magic happens! This magic is often free, and when not free, is offered at a very reasonable fee. I asked for a solution that was bedeviling us, and for a modest fee, within 3 days I had not only the solution (custom install on our JamRoom site), but also multiple support ticket replies to 'tweak' it to perfection.

[info on agile https://allaland.wordpress.com/2010/02/15/agile-in-plain-english-part-1/]

I have not been this excited about LEWWWP (our site/mission) since late January 2012 when we were preparing to launch LEWWWP on Ning.

Innumerable frustrations with Ning's platform are not only not a frustration on Jamroom, but surpass what we were hoping for to resolve our frustrations.

The wish lists of multiple members are already resolve or are on our "we can do this when we find time" lists, with JamRoom documentation and support forum links already bookmarked.

Truly, I've literally been singing out loud, "I love you JamRoom, / Oh, yes I do-ooooo!" / You made ____ happen / Oh yes you diiiiiid! / I love you JamRoom / Oh yes I do-oooooo! / You work magic / You truly do-oooo! / You're making us look good / You're making us feel good / Hooray for JamRoom!"

We are inching closer to launch and beginning to believe we'll make our October 1, 2016 target date!
All this in less than a month's time!

*I and the others working with me are also indebted to the "Ning to JamRoom" forum contributors.
I'm selfishly glad you worked through this before me/us.

Editing Activity Timeline

Design and Skin Customization

Hi Michael,
I'm writing for Joanna (she 'gets' this stuff much better than I do. I'd be lost without her).

It appears from our reading of the discussions in the link you suggested [https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/new_posts/43430/data-browser-truncates-out-timeline-profile-id-s-that-i-need#p43510] that you will have to add something to our site?

You wrote:
Quote: Yes this is the index_activity.tpl template:
ACP -> SKINS -> (your current skin) -> TEMPLATES -> index_activity.tpl -> MODIFY

I've added it to your site. The action is exactly the same as if the DELETE button was pressed from the Data Browser.

If you find the cache clearing is an issue, get your moderators to write on their timeline after they're done deleting, that should sort the cache out.

So, Joanna and I are thinking that we need to beg you to add this to lewwwpcom.jamroomhosting.com too?

Please, please, pretty please?
Thank you,
Holly & Joanna
