changing defaults when inserting an image

OK. This has been a question since my Day 1 on JamRoom.

On several different days, I've tried to resolve this somewhere in ACP, read through confusing-to-non-coder-me documentation, searched through various support forum posts, and I'm just not finding my answer.

So, here I am once again.

We are a Ning 2.0 to JamRoom site, using the JamRoom 6 update, Ningja skin.

Many of our (JRdiscussion) forum posts (thousands of them) are sort of like 'storytelling' posts. To build the story, images are inserted between paragraphs of text.

For these types of posts, inserting images is a much better choice for us than attaching photos.

But we want to change the default settings.

Just now, as I was typing this post, before I continued to complain about having to remember to change the settings every time I inserted a photo. . .

. . . I realized I had not checked this since we installed JamRoom 6.

I just inserted an image into a blog (signed in as a standard user), and the default showed teeny tiny (24 px?). I changed it to larger size, and changed 'left' to 'normal', and inserted my image.

I then refreshed my page, started a new blog, and the new/preferred settings populated.

Then I tried a post in the main forum, with the same preset preferences appearing (I did not have to change anything!).

I LOVE this!

Then I signed out / logged off, and signed back in, and started a new discussion, and went to insert an image, and my presets were still there!

THIS, I assume, is the beauty of a profile-centric platform?

I'm in love! Now I only have to make a change if I don't want my own personal default choices.

Have I mentioned lately that you guys are AWESOME?

Here's Gerard's page... Leyla is NOT following him (yet), though I'm sure she will once she registers here after we go live.

Hello again.

We have the JamRoom 6 set up, Ningja skin, developer mode.

In Latest activity, this just appeared:
(see attached)

But when I visit Gerard's profile page, Leyla is NOT showing as a follower (Leyla's account is NOT yet active.

Why does the activity stream say "Leyla is now following Gerard" INSTEAD of "Gerard is now following Leyla"?

[Note: We do have the auto follow feature installed -- which will become one of my favorite features, by the way; I LOVE it! -- but only one of my profiles/my user name, is listed for auto follow.]

I'll send a second screenshot to show Gerard's page

aha! I feel I must sound like a broken record, but you guys are awesome!

With a blush, I'll admit you have resolved the issue. I DID have the 'required' checked on that Account page.

Changed now.

hmmm... screenshot attached. This is what it was set as (UNchecked).

To clarify... this happens when I click on a profile (as master admin), click on that profile's account tab, and then make changes there.
This is when it happens.

Did you test it that way also?

This glitch does not occur when I edit and change quotas, for example, as I'm doing en masse this afternoon.

It only happens when I click on Account settings and edit there.

Hello again,

We are a Ning to Jamroom site, still in development, with JamRoom 6 installed (with multiple updates . Ningja skin.

Before and after JamRoom 6 was installed, we have had this issue:

If I go in and edit a profile (my own or as master admin editing others), and edit one of the fields, and then click save, an error message pops up saying that "Ooops. You forgot to upload an image." But the image is there!

In most cases, it's an image imported from Ning, but not in all cases.

It's a bit of a nuisance to have to copy the photos and then re-upload them.

Is this a glitch? Is this some dumb setting change we made somewhere?

Anyone else having this issue / had this issue and know a solution?

We've just realized that status posts are something else that are not mentioned here: https://www.jamroom.net/ning-to-jamroom/documentation/ning-to-jamroom/3644/ning-2-3-to-jamroom-what-you-need-to-know

I don't think they imported for us / don't think they import with your import tool.

Is this correct?

Does anyone know how / if it's possible to access a list of all status posts on our Ning site?
[Some of our status posts turned into very interesting discussion threads. It will be sad to lose them.]
