user/signup challenges

Using Jamroom

and here is what I see when I go to settings / account / form designer from my master admin profile
-- -- --
I have a few questions where I want visibility of answers ONLY for master admins, but I DO want those signing up to SEE and ANSWER those questions.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong.

Several days in a row trying, and I'm stuck and feeling like a dimwit.

Help, anyone?

Something is wrong, obviously, but what / where / how do I get those signing up to see all of the questions I've created?

Thank you,

Apologies for posting again.

I want to get this user/signup mess understood AND to look and work the way I want it to.

imported events showing oldest first (how to reverse this order?)

Ning To Jamroom

Yes, @lesrinchen. Joanna had already figured out to hide past events so that current/upcoming show on our home page and calendar.

And Hurray! Joanna figured out and did change the order on profile page views now, too! [I don't know how she did it, she'll have to tell you.]

Here's my thinking, and a new question.

I had 319 imported pages of events. If I were a new member coming to my profile page and clicking on my events, they'd see 2012 listings. My first reaction would be to LEAVE that profile page, thinking it'd been 4+ years since this person had listed an event.

NOT what I or other members want.

Now we see the most current (Thank you, Joanna, for fixing that).

But... I will be listing many recurring events... so once we go live and I start listing events again, and enter recurring Weekly Wed. events, for example, through Feb. 2017, then Feb. 2017 classes are what is going to show at the top of my profile page list.

hmmmm.... now folks will still have to scroll through an unknown number of pages to view my classes from my profile page. If they click 'Calendar' off our menu bar, then they'll see nicer listings. And from the home page they'll see upcoming listings. All good. (Again, Thank you to @Joanna).

So my new question is... is there any way to have UPCOMING classes listed first when I click "my/your events" off of profile pages?

imported events showing oldest first (how to reverse this order?)

Ning To Jamroom

Hello again, all,

I have 5 years of imported events showing off my profile page, which is wonderful (wonderful that they imported!). . . but I would like to reverse the order to display newest classes first.

Help?
As always, thank you.

Thanks, Strumelia,
Of course... these are all expected for awhile (that 'awhile' was still going on on our Ning site!).
We have a few members here in the JamRoom developer site exploring and asking us now... they'll be our site mentors when we go live...

The new chat has been a busy bee haven of comments/questions, and thanks to Joanna's observation of some other JamRoomer (we've been viewing other JamRoom sites for ideas), we have at the top position of our JRdiscussion forum a category titled, "How do I....? [LEWWWP site help]" -- and our FAQ header link takes you directly there.

We're getting closer. I'll probably be adding more questions about Terms of Service and Sign up questions later today (unless today is the day I finally figure out whatever I'm not doing right there). Those are critical. Jo's got her 'must' list almost done. We're getting there, just not fast enough for idealistic me.

Thanks for the support,

Our members are used to being confused (about English, since we're a language-learning site. :)

And our members are somewhat used to being confused by me (as I'm quite sure you can sympathize with... I do tend to be impulsive). [self-deprecating grin]

I'll hope that many of the little oddities (like "X is following Y" instead of "Y is following X") will be cleared up before we go live.

It will probably not surprise any of you to learn that my/our list of 'pre-launch' tasks is proving time-consuming. Ning issues continue, and activity on our Ning site has dwindled by 75% or more this week... we truly feel the urgency to go live.

It's a constant balance of "what MUST be done before we invite everyone?" and "dare we invite them all before JamRoom 6 is out of beta?" and "dare we wait much longer?" [I and others have worked so hard to build our community, I fear that if too much momentum is lost, if we wait too long, we will lose members.]

I am not sure how to answer.
Attached is a screenshot of the status note box on our Ning site.

Here is how Ning describes it: http://www.ning.com/help/?p=4579

I figured these could not be imported, but wanted to be certain. Something else to caution our members about.
