dead links (email notifications, hyperlinks not active?)

Using Jamroom

We used the text version of our email notifications earlier, and there wasn't any problem with links. They worked.
I see a text version of emails I receive from Jamroom. The links are not blue, but they work. When I click on them, I'm redirected to the post.

It's not only my own problem. I received a few complaints of this challenge from our active members. I don't want them to give up on us. I must find a good solution which will work for each of our members.

Thank you

dead links (email notifications, hyperlinks not active?)

Using Jamroom

Thanks Brian :)
I check my emails using my email provider's website (that's why I asked them for help).

But it might be difficult to tell/to ask most of our members to change their email clients only to have "live" links from our site. Many of our members have problems with basic English.

Something to rethink.

Move a discussion - hide a pointer

Using Jamroom

Hello :)
We are using a Discussion module (NingJa skin, JR 6). In the right side of each title in a category, there is a pointer which we use to move a discussion to a different category.
But, it's visible for everyone.
Some of our members click on it because they think it will open that discussion for them.
Our members use our site to learn English, and often they are confused when something doesn't work for them correctly.

Is it possible to hide this pointer from the "all users" view?
Is it possible to have it only visible to admin or/and members in a selected quotas?

Thanks in advance for any tip.

Quote:
Sigh ...
I sometimes use this "sigh."
It' s not disapproving.
I use it when I thought that the solution might be simple but at the end I understand that "oh well" I must live with what I received, and tomorrow is another day which might bring a new solution.

We are grateful for you hard work and fast reactions here.

Thank you for everything.

dead links (email notifications, hyperlinks not active?)

Using Jamroom

brian:
Hyperlinks in emails will be hyperlinked by the email client - that's not something JR controls.
Let me know if that helps.

Thanks Brian
Now I'm trying to resolve this challenge with my own email provider.
But I don't think other members will know what to do.
I guess we should back to the text version of our email notifications.

dead links (email notifications, hyperlinks not active?)

Using Jamroom

I'll try to explain in details our challenge.
We use an HTML version of our email notifications.

I attached a screenshot of email notification which I receive. There are two links, but they are "dead" - it means, I cannot click on them to open a post.

I also received from a friend a link (he allowed me to share this info with you):
http://pastebin.com/u7fDhqea

He said that in the line 144 link tags are missed.

Any tip where we can make some corrections to have links included in these notifications live?
Or maybe we should open a ticket with that challenge.

Thank in advance for your help.

Site Builder Container Title

Using Jamroom

That would be great to have this option.
Now I add an HTML box with the title but it takes space and is not always convenient.

Thanks

groups to JRdiscussion (following)

Ning To Jamroom

Hi @researchcooperative :)
Holly was talking about module called Discussions.

A bit more you can read in this discussion:
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/new_posts/44455/can-i-move-discussions-from-a-group-to-my-sites-community-forum

Change Item Owner is a different tool than a tool to move group discussions to Discussions.
Discussions module is a bit similar to Forum, but for example your discussionsite might be threaded.

JamRoom 6 question

Using Jamroom

I'm sorry for adding my post in this thread, but the challenge is still connected with code which we see on the site instead of text.

I tried to quote a member and received a part of the code inside the quote box.

In the timeline, I see in a comment that there is something missing (squirr's entry above the cat image).
Did we miss something?

And on our home page below the donate button we have a dictionary from the Oxford site . I see a part of the code instead of that widget.
In attachments I added screenshots of the code we see.
Thanks :)

Using Jamroom

Ok
Take your time, I know you are very busy.
I thought it might be connected with the new Jamroom 6.

If you need something more from me, just tell.

Thank you.
