Yes, I followed your step-by-step instructions for upgrading, including integrity check and rebuilding search indexes. First on test site, then on live site. Just did the integrity check again. Tagged forum posts still not appearing...

One error appearing in activity log after upgrade has to do with an event listener function... see screen shot. This doesn't seem related but who knows...

Also attaching screenshot showing the profile on which my Forum lives is set to be visible to everyone...

Still getting the message that tagged posts are "not currently visible."

Tag search forum results don't link to posts

No. The Forum is on a Community profile visible to everyone... Hmm... I just tested and found the function is working on my test site, just not on my live site. I don't know what the difference could be. The only changes I've made to the live site that aren't on the test site are 1) restoring some user images and comments from the Recycle Bin after a user mistakenly deleted them, and 2) changing the HomePage layout with Site Builder. Don't know why either of those would affect this. It must be something else. Please look and assist. Thanks in advance.

Tag search forum results don't link to posts

Using Jamroom

Hi Michael,

Reopening this conversation after updating to JR6 and trying the Tag Cloud again. Instead of fixing the earlier issue (where the tagged forum post links didn't work), now the Forum posts don't show up at all. See screenshot. Clicking on tags in the cloud returns the tagged gallery images, but not the forum posts now.

Can I tag discussions in the forum? (Module: Item tag)

Ning To Jamroom

Deb, check the Quota Config for the Profile your Forum lives on. In my site, the Forum lives on a dedicated Profile called Community. That Profile has its own quota, called Community Quota. I think you need to give that quota permission to tag.

Putting videos and members into grid (site builder - combined video)

Ning To Jamroom

If I correctly understand what you're asking, Deb, you don't need any custom code. When you add an Item List widget with Site Builder, you select the list module (Videos or Profiles for your question). Then under List Options, click on Template to get your layout options. You can choose grids with various numbers of columns as you like. Hope this helps!

Add notification triggers?

Using Jamroom

michael:
3.) create a separate module that listens for specific events and fires off an email when it finds them, maybe this is the easiest way, just check settings..... not sure....

What would probably work best for me and my network is a module that does the same thing as the list I have on my home page for updated photos. It listens for updates to JRgallery, which includes new uploads as well as any comments on already-uploaded images. I would like to receive an email every time this is triggered. And I would like my members to have the option to be notified by email too.

michael:
"Sponsor a module" cost is development time with an adjustment multiplier for usefulness. So if its something that we would build for everyone anyhow, then the cost is putting off whatever else we want to build that we want to build, or is probably more useful for more people. Since JR6 is currently in beta its got full focus right now, we want to get that released. If you need it done NOW that has to be put off til later so the cost is higher.
As a general guide for myself, I gauge it at around $40/hour then try to figure out how many hours it would take me.

I don't need it now. I've lived through years without it on Ning, always wishing for it. But it would certainly be an improvement to the life of my little group. So it would be great to have an estimate of what it would cost to create this, at the least expensive, most convenient time.

And if this is also of interest to Holly, it would be great to share. But I do understand the difficulty of meeting multiple people's expectations.

No comment box on Group Discussions when logged in as admin.

Using Jamroom

I created a private group for my most advanced students to discuss a specialized topic.

To do this, I installed the Groups module and Group Discussions. Enabled Groups only on my Community Quota, which contains only the Community Profile where my Site Forum lives. I created agroup there, set it as private, and invited select users to apply for admission. So far so good.

Then one of the group members started a discussion. I went to her post intending to comment on it but found no comment box. I could read the post but had no way to respond to it. I could star a new discussion, but there too, no comment box for further discussion appeared.

I logged out of my admin account and logged into my testuser account (as a standard user, also a member of the private group). With this account, I see a comment box and can add to the discussion.

But when I log back in as myself, on my regular admin account, The comment box is not there.
I tried deactivating myself from the group and then re-activating... but still see no comment boxes when logged in as me. I need to be able to comment on my group members posts. Am I missing something or is this a bug?
