YouTube Video Display Vanishes Upon Skin Change

Using Jamroom

I'm no coder and I'm beginning to think I may be in over my head with Jamroom 5. I started out with the Solo Artist skin, but couldn't change the glaring red background to something more pleasant.

I changed to try Proxima but I am not an app developer; and the YouTube videos and audio disappeared at this point though I was able to set up some monetization for the site. I couldn't figure out how to add enough content to make the use of that module bundle worthwhile.

Changing to the Elastic skin while keeping the Proxima Core allowed the audio to come back but not the video; and I really need YouTube connectivity. The imported videos can be seen from the Dashboard but not from the live site.

Now I am on my last skin option, Lucid. I have the banner I want, but no audio or video is displaying. My profile isn't even displaying!

Help?

Just what I was saying on the HT discussion forum this morning, Scott! That dashboard isn't the easiest job on the planet; and I've been working JR since V.3.

Now I have my own problem, folks. I'm not much of a coder, and the YouTube API update has put a stop to me embedding videos at my own Jamroom.

I'm using the Google Dev Console as described in the YouTube Support section. I see an immediate possible security problem. Google itself recommends designating referring domains before using the new API key in production, and JR Dev is saying leave the referrers section blank.

Wouldn't it be more secure to use my domain as the sole referrer?

Oh dear; that last is just what I feared...*smile*. I am absolutely lousy at coding CSS. Will do the best I can and make sure I back up the original. If worse comes to worse I may end up switching to a different template.

I am still looking for a way to change the red framing and background color shown in the screenshot on this thread to the same blue as my custom header image. I'm getting constant complaints about the red and blue clashing, and I cannot find any way to change the base skin color.

If someone knows the way to do this or where the image files for this template are actually stored so I can load them into Photoshop and change them that way I would be deeply appreciative.

Attached please find a screen shot showing what I see in the Style Editor. Editing the font colors on a log are no good to me at all, and this is the only color option I can find.

The header.tpl will be easy, thanks for the tip! However, when I go into the http://hypnoticsoundscapes.com/core/skin_admin/style/skin=jrSoloArtist URL, I'm not given the option to change the red framing which holds such things as the menu links and frames the site banner and the audio players. I have a screenshot but can't post it to this reply; all I can change is the body background and the font color and those are fine as they are.

Is it possible to change the color of the skin from red to blue and if so, how do I go about it? My site banner and background clash. Also, I would like to be able to extend the site banner to entirely fill the horizontal space available. Current limit doesn't allow this. Note that I have no experience in PHP coding, only HTML, and that pre-HTML 5

Mine has been running for 2 hrs now. it seems to be stuck on (depending on whether it goes bottom latest or top latest) jrAction or jrMailer. Can I just close the window without harming my Jamroom? I am using the Chrome browser, and I have the little round circle meaning busy in Windows 8 going around and around.
