Can anyone tell me if there is a module for adding a live chat similar to the chat we had available on Ning? How easy is it to add/use?

I will be importing a Ning site (with Paul's help) into a new JR site. I haven't done this in a while and I got a message on the Systems check that I should Install the free Geo Location module from the marketplace. I didn't do that on my other JR sites (set up last Oct. & this Feb). Do I really need to do that? What is it and why should I care? should I do this for the other JR sites I have set up?
