Unable to put a link containing the string ".jpg" in a comment.

Using Jamroom

@brian Sorry, this has reverted. Again, I can't paste a link in a group discussion if it has ".jpg" at the end, without it being turned into a broken image link.
I have Image Galleries 1.8.8 installed.

Timeline refers to gallery name, not item

I need to look at this too. Thanks for posting.

That's great, thanks very much @brian .
I have just pasted the example link https://pmp-art.com/tina-dumitru/gallery/197835/iris.jpg into a group discussion comment, and it has appeared as an active link, as it should be. It certainly does help!

@brian I'm sorry I've misled you with my last comment. I do apologise.
I meant to say (as in my opening comment on this forum) that we are trying to paste a link into a comment on a group discussion - not to 'embed' the image, but just 'include a link' to the image page in the comment text.

Typing text in the comment box and pasting a link to an image page: Where the link to the image page has the string ".jpg" in it, e.g. https://pmp-art.com/tina-dumitru/gallery/197835/iris.jpg the editor tries to embed the image itself, instead of just making it an active link. Instead of a link, you get a little 'broken' image box as shown in the screenshot on my opening comment.

This is becoming more of a problem for us.
There seem to be a lot of images in our database that have ".jpeg" included in the link to the image page. It's not possible to embed these images in a comment, unless the ".jpg" part of the link is omitted.

Would it be possible to strip out the extension when the link is created, at the time the image is uploaded to the gallery?

'Follow action' - apparently not instigated by the 'follower'.

Using Jamroom

Roy has pointed out that Thomas 'approves' followers, so perhaps he approved a bunch in one go. Thanks for looking though. If I get a response from this chap Thomas, I'll update this post.

'Follow action' - apparently not instigated by the 'follower'.

Using Jamroom

I reported an anomaly of this kind some time ago; https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/using-jamroom/35336/users-recorded-as-following-a-profile-but-they-have-not-followed/search_string=followers

I've just had a report by one of our users: She has just received a notification that she followed user Thomas, at a time when she was not on the site. She says she did follow Thomas, but it was a long time ago and she has concluded that someone is using her account (which I think is highly unlikely).

I looked at the followers list for Thomas, and the reporting member is there, but four pages down. It is my understanding that followers are listed in order of latest first - is that correct?

I have looked at some other more recent followers and many have no other action on site, except for following this same user Thomas in the last couple of hours.

I checked the mailgun to see how many 'follower' emails were generated for Thomas. As in the last case I reported, the followed user has all notifications turned off. I will send a private email to him asking when/if he turned off his notifications (nothing showing in the activity log). I can see he responded to comments 5 days ago, so I imagine its a recent thing.

Any ideas as to what might be happening here? Is it a delay in sending notifications, or re-sending them for some reason? Is anyone else seeing this?

Admin users' Photo Albums not shown as option on add

Using Jamroom

I've just installed the latest updates. Since then, I noticed that when I try to add an image to a photo album, I am shown only the albums for the user whose image I'm on, not the albums I have in my Admin user.
Anyone else noticed this?

Watermark appearing on URL Scan images and Profile pictures

Using Jamroom

I am just looking at the watermarking feature as we have had some instances of people using site images against the terms of Service.
Would it be possible for the watermark to be applied to a gallery image on upload, switchable by user setting?
