auto-follow a discussion when you've posted to it

Just as an aside - it would be nice if we auto-followed a support ticket when responding to one. It seems to default to 'not following' and I often forget to click the 'follow' circle.

Multi-profile users - how to switch focus?

Using Jamroom

@brian, thanks. But it doesn't...
"Selecting the new profile from 'Your Profiles', takes me to that new Profile page, but whatever I do then has no effect on the new profile, but only affects the original profile. For example, adding a photo to a Photo Album adds it in the original profile's albums."
I've just cleared caches and done an integrity check.
I deleted the new profile I made on my non-Admin 'Group Leader' account, but now although I have the 'Your Profiles' in the drop-down menu, I can't create a new profile. There is no Create New Profile button on the Profile settings page. There is a + on the Profile page, but when I click that I get - error - You have already created the maximum number of Profiles allowed by your account settings.
I must have set it up wrong. I'll raise a support ticket so I can give you the login details. Sorry about this.

Multi-profile users - how to switch focus?

Using Jamroom

Additional Info:
Most users are in the Standard User Group and the Quota 'All users'. I want to allow users who run Groups to have some extra permissions, so I have created a new Quota 'Group Leaders' with the extra features and changed those users' existing Profiles from All Users to Group Leaders. So far so good.

I want Group Leaders to be able to keep their non-group info separate from the group stuff, so I thought I could allow Group Leaders to create an additional Profile in the All Users quota, where they can create Galleries, Photo Albums etc..

I went to ACP > Users > Users > Quota Config and for quota Group Leaders I checked Power User, Max 2 [assuming the original Profile counts as one of the two] of type 'All Users'.
In a non-Admin, Group Leader Profile, I was then able to create a new profile.

I can't work out how to switch focus from the original account profile to this new profile.
Selecting the new profile from 'Your Profiles', takes me to that new Profile page, but whatever I do then has no effect on the new profile, but only affects the original profile. For example, adding a photo to a Photo Album adds it in the original profile's albums.
The Likes and Timelines of the two Profiles appear to be identical.

Multi-profile users - how to switch focus?

Using Jamroom

I've read the documentation and made some changes that aren't doing what I thought they would. I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I've created a new Quota that's allowed to create an additional profile in the standard quota.
Once the user has 2 profiles, I don't know how to switch focus from one profile to the other. I thought the user could just select a profile from the 'Your Profiles' list, but this doesn't seem to change the focus.

Beta core updates

Using Jamroom

I seem to remember it's possible to decline beta updates. Can you please remind me how?
At the moment we have an outstanding beta core update and I can't update anything else unless I install that first.

How to use the notifications dropdown menu - more clarity is needed

Using Jamroom

Just received this support ticket today from one of our members, which I thought I'd share in case proof were needed that the drop-down menu confuses people (Attending Events is the first option on our list):

"I haven’t been getting all my notifications all of a sudden for about a week . I went to my setting and saw for some reason it was on Attending Events .??? So I attempted to correct that which brought me to another dilemma ....too many choices I want all my notifications from what my friends have posted in my groups ,on my post comments etc ...so I thought I would test it with just picky something , I picked group notifications then clicked on save and it just went back to Attending Events no matter how many times I tried I even tried different choices and it always returned to 'Attending Events'. Help".

Personally I favour a simple list of notifications with current settings, even if it is a long list.

This is something I'll have to test on our PMP site. Thanks for raising the issue.

Problem using quotes in Profile search?

Using Jamroom

I'm deleting some inactive users, starting with those who have confirmed unsubscribe from all site notifications and have no other activity on site. I've searched via the 'Profiles' menu tab, for the user name recorded in the Activity Log for the unsubscribe. I'm wondering if putting the user name in quotes is having some unexpected effect...

In some cases, the profile search has returned two profiles. Example: search "Lynda Rance" in quotes, returns two profiles (not on the same account). One is profile "Lynda Rance" and the other is "georgia (Mrs) pogue". I can't see any connection between the two, except that they have consecutive user Id numbers, in this case 15826 (profile Lynda Rance) and 15825.
If I search only on Rance, the profile search only returns the one 'Lynda Rance' profile.

Here is another example https://pmp-art.com/profile/ss=%22sally%20mcintosh%22 which returns profile IDs 68030 (Sally McIntosh) and 68023 (Kidzmom). I can see no connection in the keys of these profiles.
Again, if I search only on Mcintosh, there are several results with that surname, but Kidzmom is not one of them.

Sorry if I'm being dim but can you explain to me what is happening here please?
