What's the difference between a profile admin, a master admin and a power user?

That looks very nice... thanks for the tip, stumelia...

Strumelia:
Deb, I used the 3rd party-created "Profile Badges" module by b360, in the marketplace for sale.
Ken Rich helped me understand it a bit, and I made my own little profile page banner label to use for certain quotas i created.
Unfortunately, the banners are rather small and only show underneath that persons profile page member image- they don't show up on their avatar site-wide. I found that part of the coding to be too complex for me to achieve. Here's what I wound up with (which is kinda 'good enough' though not ideal in my view):

The only issue is that a couple of the Greeters are "Patrons" already in my Patron quota (members who make a large site donation), which puts a 'Patron' banner on their profile page...

So, strum, how do you put the patron banner on their profile page? Do you do that automatically when you add them to the Patron quota? Or do you do that by hand? Can I look at an example? It's a great idea....

I'm so doing my happy dance right now!!! This looks like it is exactly what we want. I will let you know how it works for us...

I also want to say that this is a great example of why I'm glad we moved to JR.... The JR staff are so responsive and I love the community here.... very friendly towards us "accidental techies".

thank you!

When we were on the Ning, they would get a notification that a new member had joined. Then they would go to their profile page and post a comment... saying hello, introducing themselves if someone has questions and suggesting things they may want to check out on the website.

Thanks Paul.... no way to set them up with notifications without giving them those extra powers (such as the power to delete a profile). I just want to be sure...

Hi Michael.... this was very helpful, especially the video on the "Concepts" page. So I think I still have some questions for you (and more may come as we refine our quotas, etc.)

Here's the first question: We want to designate certain users as "hosts". Their primary duty is to welcome new members to the site. in order to do this on a timely basis, they will need to receive notifications when a new member joins.

So how should we set up these hosts? Do you think they need to be profile admins or Master admins? (we don't want to give them too much access... they aren't responsible to making any changes to profiles or users or anything else "behind the curtain").

Should we set them up as a separate quota? Or keep them in the regular member quota? (they won't be posting anything that regular members can't post)

What's the difference between a profile admin, a master admin and a power user?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the difference between a user and a profile. But the main thing I want to know right now is what is the difference between a profile admin, a master admin and a power user?

How do their respective super powers work?

In non-technical language please.
Thank you.

Problems with login page and Forgot Login page

Using Jamroom

Nope, I promise that when I try to use my email address to log onto my JR site, it tells me it's not not found. And I know it's there and it's not misspelled.

Same thing happens when I try to use my email address for Forgot Login....
