Some questions regarding hosting:

Jamroom Hosting

Hi!

I´m about to lauch my site soon, and I´m concidering jamroom hosting. If you don´t mind, I´d like to ask a five questions regarding hosting, third party code, multiple domain names and amazon s3 .

1 If I like to use/install 3rd party software or CMS and create additional mysql databases?

Like PHPBB, opencart, addservers and other stuff?

Do I need a secondary webhosting to make this possible or is it possible with jamroom hosting?

If I can´t create my own databases, can you help me set up additional databases if necessairy, so I can install third party things inside my jamroom sites?

2. Can I create subdomains on jamroom hosting?

EX: thirdpartysoftware.domain.com

3. Amazon s3

Does it require cloud core, or can I buy just this module Amazon S3 Media and let it run by itself?
( or is it Included as free module when I sign up at hosting?)

4. CHANGE MEDIA FILE LOCATION S3- to place X:

If I start with a modest site and want to change to a local files or jamroom storage solution. Can I transfer the amazon s3 files (audio, video etc) to a New place and reconnect them there without any problems for my users?

I expect that, over time, that the size of music, video media will be quite large.

5. Multiple sites, multiple domain names possible?

I can have more or many jamrooms sites running on hosting, right? Can I use domainname1.com on site1 and domainname2.com on site2 etc?

(Other things.... No questions, just verifying functions. If I have missunderstood anything, please let me know.

* I can upgrade to larger hosting over time.
* Access ALL files, skins, admin, cach, modules etc via ftp.)

Hi! Just got your bridge module, works great.

I wonder if you, beeing an expert of this bridge and phpBB, know a way to prevent non logged in users (Jamroom system) to be able to sign up to phpBB or even see it live if not logged in?

Maybye in the phpBB admin?
Based on quota perhaps?

Hi! A question.

I was wondering if it is possible to hide, for instance phpbb forum, that I have in a subfolder to my site mysite.com/forum, from the public unless logged in to the jamroomsite? (Restrict access from non logged in internet visitors)

Phpbb has its own header and footer and it is seperat from the jamroom system.

Is it possible to "embedd" it into a jamroomsite/page without using iframes (Tried, it didn´t work) some how?

For instance with:
{if jrUser_is_logged_in()}
show
{/if}

Using Jamroom

Hi again!

Just want to share some more experiences I have with site builder and Slate skin.

Images uploaded throu embed local media when in maintenence mode does not show up when I set the site to live mode. It shows the placeholder questionmark.

The drop down menues does not work in android phones.(Older versions) Shows main menu level one but no subs...

Just an idea: Can other file formats be able to be uploaded throu embed local media like "Upload a image" instead of using video, audio modules etc? Would be a timesaver for our users when using group support. (And there within keeping the media out of listings and search engines - work in progress and all that - or a private button (Don´t show this on the main site. )

Menu is fine now. Great!
Menues is reversed still. including acp
When I change order in editor - I can´t save
Sub menues level 2 not transfered from old to new
Can´t create anything below level 2 sub menues.

Still promising!

Hi! A follow up on this.

The menus does appear in header
But there are two menues. One in line with the ACP and the other were it supposed to be.
ALso noticed that all menues were reversed. Menu 1 to the far left created in old site builder
is now at far right and menu 2 seconde to the left of menu 1 and so on.

Change the last is doable - just to change positions, but I thought you wanna know.
