How to use the jrGravatar module to provide a default profile image?

Using Jamroom

Just adding my interest in what @researchcooperative is looking for. I played around with BuddyPress before and a plugin did this. It showed people 5 (or however many images) you chose, so if people didnt feel comfortable with their own photo/face at least the default images represented the page well AND gave the page some variety.

No matter how nice your one default image is, it looks a bit boring and unprofessional to new members when they see 25 of these default images appearing. It makes it seem like people are not enthused to be there.

As one who serves the chronically ill, I have a good majority of my audience who is reluctant to share their photo. I try to remind them it can be of whatever--their dog, a flower--just something they think represents them well.

How to install Site Builder

Using Jamroom

After messing up my site, it was explained that I need to install Site Builder and THEN Slate skin. I cannot find any instructions on how to install Site Builder, only what to do with it after.

I am sure it is obvious and I am just missing something. I can locate the 5 parts of Site Builder here https://www.jamroom.net/site-builder/networkmarket and download them but I don't know where to upload them.

So I am stuck.

@Brian, you had offered yesterday to install for me, then @Michael tried to help, but he said he couldn't get into my site.

My info is:

http://restministriessunroomcom.jamroomhosting.com

But evidently this didn't work for Michael. This is the info @Paul used to set it up and it works okay for me. So this is where we got stuck.

Thanks for any help you can offer--either to set it up for me, or point me in the right direction.

Every profile can just have one quota, right?

Using Jamroom

I am setting up some quotas and want to make sure I have this right.

I could have...

Member (all member privileges)
Premium Member (all member privileges and have additional privileges )
Moderator (all member privileges plus moderator privileges)

I need to stack them basically, correct?

Thanks

New Transfer - Basic Question on How JR Functions

Ning To Jamroom

I am a new transfer and have been clicking around in my new JR. I am a Ning importer and have used WP for many years--and am trying to wrap my brain around the new lingo and layout and how to set things up.

I have looked at the tutorials, which I am sure will be handy. But as far as understanding layout and basic changes, would you suggest this video as the best place to begin?
https://www.udemy.com/start-your-own-online-community/?dtcode=q3gqiZA2EEXh

Also, what are my options for being able to add html to places like the homepage. In wordpress, for example, I would put in a text box widget where I want it. I am trying to figure out how/if I could do this in JR.

If a module is "sort of" a widget, is there a module that could include html only? I looked, and didn't find it, but it was just a stab in the dark. I don't even know if I am looking for the right thing.

I am using the Ningja Template and made a clone as well.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

"export all over again" = export the members again.

Installation and Configuration

Sounds good. I had my members exported already. not sure if you are familiar with ning export, but I think I need to export it all over again then, if I have changed/added a "member/profile" - Does that sound familiar? Would that be the best way to go? (Rather than just mention I 'need a profile' when i sent the files?)

Thank you for answering at 12:45 AM! Wow! I couldn't sleep so got up to hit another "export" button on my Ning archiving. Hoping their are other 'weird' people like that here :)
