Adding anchor text to html

I am using Site Builder/Slate.

I have some links at the top of my page http://restministriessunroomcom.jamroomhosting.com/guidelines-policies#disclaim that I want linked to the body of the text sections.

I have put in anchor text twice and when I click save it strips it out.

Any ideas?

Thank you to all of you! When it comes to html, I tend to code what I can behind the scenes like vspace="15" etc (I love the "MyWords" add on in Firefox for this), so I thought I would mess up the code using the justify button for images.

It all worked fine.

@derrickhand300 - extra thanks for the video details! Wow. Awesome. I am a visual person so this was perfect.

And templates! I am so glad you posted this now for me. I will do this for a bunch of little areas that will need updated in the future.

@Michael - is there a place on this forum where we could add an area of "Quick Tricks and Tips" or "Tutorials" for things like this? For people like me who are coming from Ning and looking for these basics, it would be a great place to scroll through and easily find some tips before getting confused.

Changing Font Color / CSS

I am using Slate theme, with site builder.

I found where to change my font size in my site.css (after an hour of digging through css files) but am unable to discover where to change the color. I have used firebug, but am coming up empty.

I just wanted the normal text font to be a bit darker--closer to black and less gray.

I feel silly even asking this but it's driving me crazy. I am trying to edit some pages and just want basic text and a few images and right and left justified.

I am using Site Builder.

I have copy and pasted all my html post into the source box but the images all default left and text does not wrap around.

When I try to use the embed media option instead, it doesn't give me an option for a single image.

I can't seem to locate how to do this.

If I wanted to add a feature of images sliding --with each linked to a forum post--how would I go about editing the template?

I am used to editing php files for WP and such, but am still getting used to the files here.

I have found sites like http://wowslider.com/ that give you the html.

Is there a way that makes more sense to do this?

I am using the image slider for profiles--perhaps a way to use this? I want my images to be able to link to a forum topic/thread, however. thank you!

Thank you, @strumelia . Your many posts in this forum have been helpful as I have followed your transition from N to JR. Though our audiences are different, they seem to have a lot of similar styles and needs. thank you for your tip above and all the others as well.

Thanks, @michael. Yes, I read about that. Now to wrap my brain around it. I tested 2 profiles last night. One I made a member, one a moderator. I went to the list of my ning import members and searched by name. I moved the ning member to "member" and was able to do this in quotas. Then I searched for another previous Ning member to to make her a moderator. Instead of a quote coming up the standard user/profile/master option came up.

that confused me... but now I see it was likely that when I searched my member data for these two names, one came us as a profile, and the other one as a user. Does that sound correct?

How can I know what I am seeing?--a profile or a user? I found both these members just searching for my members (in what was previously a quote called "ning import"--but which I had transferred to a new quote called just "member.")
