the css has somehow removed the settings button from the forum page. where is that in the dashboard please? looking in the profiles -> forum and it's not anywhere I'm looking

Follow ups:


1. is there an easy way to just make the discussion forum private and default member profiles to private but they can choose to make them public?

2. looking at "profile forum" general settings and page settings and I don't see that option. Am I in the wrong place?

3. I don't have that installed, but I will do that and presume it will help.

4. I don't have one handy, but I'll see if I can find an example and post it here.

Four Technical Questions

Okay, one of these is follow up/clarification, but I figured I'd put all 3 in one place.

1. my site is private and only the home page is visible to non members. Can I make individual pages public as well, and if so, how do I do that?

2. How do I make sure my site doesn't automatically archive and lock old posts?

3. I'd like it to be easy for members to embed pictures and videos into the WYSIWYG text bock and just have them work without having to upload them to the site first. Why isn't that working?

4. I'm having a difficult time activating accounts since the move from Ning. Once a member logs in once they are fine, but I have to manually go in and change things in their profile about 20% of the time. When I do there are errors associated with URLs in their profile questions (Ning's profile questions that ported over, not Jamroom questions). I'm willing to remove those questions if it will make a difference.

why do discussions keep closing after a few months of inactivity?

Checked today 14th November.. all threads prior to 24th of October are once again closed to further comments.

We had a moderator go through and open things up manually and they closed again. Is there a setting somewhere?

I brought those fields as part of my profile from Ning.

So the member says they can't log into their account and resetting the password does nothing.

1. I log in as admin and take a look at their profile, which exists.
2. I attempt to change their password.
3. Site won't let me save because the URLs for their website and homepage are invalid.
4. I delete the URLS and it save
5. Everything works and they can log in again.

I'd like to just skip to step 5 if at all possible.

I'm getting dozens of people who can't sign into their account until I go in and edit their profile to remove the URLs from their website and facebook profile link. Once I do that everything is fine. That's the info that came from the Ning import.

I figure we can just remove that from all profiles with one big bulk action, right?

greater facebook integration

Hi guys - I'd like to set things up so one section of my site pushes announcements to a facebook group, and vice versa. Right now I have an iframe set up to show my facebook group on a page in my site along with announcements, but better hooks and integration would be great. Any suggestions?
