Modules for collecting donations and managing donors (for NPO sites)

Suggestions

There are numerous systems now for managing donations and fundraising, for use by NPOs and other groups (see e.g. civicrm.org).

At some point it would be nice if Jamroom could integrate with a range of these systems.

Perhaps it already can. The example above is designed for integration with Drupal, WordPress, or Joomla. Does this have any significance for how it might be used with Jamroom?

Moving from Ning

Ning To Jamroom

Hi Paul,

I am reviewing the Ning import process after the recent import of my Ning 2.0 content, and am looking for the "Review Signup Questions" page on my site (Publishscience.net).

I cannot see the following series of links in my ACP:

Ning Support, then Ning Imports, Tools, then Review Signup Questions

What I do see is a Ning Notes module that does not lead to the signup questions when I click into that.

Please advise.

Thanks.

RE Ning Signup Questions

First of all, we need to remind ourselves of what our Ning signup questions were. In the ACP click on Ning Support, then Ning Imports, Tools, then Review Signup Questions and see something like the image on the left. The texts to the left of each line is the name of the field we are going to add to the signup and update forms, and the texts to the right of each line are the signup questions you defined on your Ning site. .....

Where can I see which version of JR my hosted account is using?

Using Jamroom

Thanksfor the info.
Just to note: (1) the link in first reply takes me to the Jamroom sites tab for my JR.net account, and there I can see my sites and the 'view licences' tab.

When I choose the 'view licences' tab I am then taken to a list of marketplace items that have been installed on the site, and two buttons next to each: one for 'remove' and one for 'download'.

I don't want to do either of those actions... but is downloading the only way to see what the version is?

The System Core logo displays a black radiation symbol. Perhaps that is a visual code for JR5? At least it suggests a cool state, not a meltdown!

(2) The ACP route to the module INFO on the actual site is good. The System Core is running on 5.3.5

Cheers, P.

Where can I see which version of JR my hosted account is using?

Using Jamroom

I have a hosted account.

When I login at jamroom.net and look at profile, settings, etc, where should I look to see if I am in JR 4 or JR 5, and which version is being used?

I suspect it is somewhere obvious, and that I have been looking in all the wrong places.

Cannot find my server settings button at jamroom.net

Installation and Configuration

Thanks for the screenshot! Something like that would be good for the Mailgun documentation within JR.

Cannot find my server settings button at jamroom.net

Installation and Configuration

Thanks.. found that. I just needed to check that Mailgun was actually set up. Maybe it is since it has my API number. But... when I looked for help via ACP and the mailgun module, here:

https://www.jamroom.net/search/results/jrDocs,jrTags,jrFAQ/1/4/search_string=jrCore

None of the items shown as documentation was obviously related to Mailgun. Instead, the preset search string led to jrCore items.

When I went to JR documentation directly, and made a new search, then I did find the documentation for Mailgun, so it seems that the module Help button has not been set up properly.

In any case, my present query is solved. Thanks.

Cannot find my server settings button at jamroom.net

Installation and Configuration

I am trying to set up mailgun for my site which is hosted by JR.

I have my Mailgun API numbers ready, and following the mailgun setup instructions, am looking for the place to enter these API codes.

I expected to see the "server settings button" on the screen shown in the attached screenshot. But no such thing is there that I can see.

Where should I go from here?

Explaining the Sign up form, a two-way problem, and a possible two-in-one solution

Using Jamroom

michael:
Did you try my suggestion of
Quote: "...default values when you create the field...."
?

Thanks. This is not the sense that I meant for 'autofill'. But now it appears from Brian's advice that I can ignore the profile/create form for the sign-up and profile filling sequence of steps.

Time for me to go back to the drawing board. Thanks for all the comments above.

Explaining the Sign up form, a two-way problem, and a possible two-in-one solution

Using Jamroom

brian:
you will likely rarely use profile/create - that is for MANUAL creation of a new profile.

Thanks. Can this be explained more fully (here and in documentation)?

Is the profile/create form meant for manual creation of a new profile for another person or entity, by the Admin?

Is the profile create form not needed for members who sign up and then fill out their own profile forms?

Can I delete/deactivate all fields in the profile/create form and just work with the profile/ settings form?

Explaining the Sign up form, a two-way problem, and a possible two-in-one solution

Using Jamroom

michael:
researchcooperative:.... Is it possible to set up an autofill function from the Sign up form to profile form fields in the new user's chosen quota?

An auto-fill function might be useful for three inter-connected reasons:

What's an auto-fill function? In the form designer you have the option of putting in default values when you create the field.

Bearing in mind the explanation just given by @ultrajam (i.e. the sign up form is a separate issue), I should say that rather than having a profile create form separate from a profile settings form, there should be just one form that can be created and updated at anytime.

Or if the system requires two forms, there should be an easy way to make the settings form fields identical to create form fields (e.g. duplicate all fields en masse), and then have data added to the create form automatically transmitted (auto-filled) to the same fields in the settings form.... the aim being to give the user the experience of filling out and modifying just one form even if the system has to handle them separately.

I certainly do not understand what the relationship between the profile/create form and the profile/settings form is... just as I don't understand the advantage of having profile-form fields for all quotas handled in just one form-designing window, rather than in separate, quota-specific designing windows.
