Login form not instantly clear - how to change the language?

Using Jamroom

The attached screenshot shows a standard jr login form. The two fields are labelled "user login" and "password". There is a small help button at the side, which may not be noticed by first-time users of a site. It tells the user who happens to click on that to "please enter a valid email address or user name to log into the system."

The term "login" may be understood by most users to refer to the whole process of providing a user name and a password. Not all sites accept email addresses as an alternative to the user name. As a result, the label "user login" does not actually explain anything. The visitor already knows he or she is on the login page.

I would like to replace the words "User login" with the words "User name, or email address" .
How can I do this?

The help button could display a statement such as "Your registered user name or email address"
Where can this be changed?

Thanks.

Signup Note and Login Note - can an editor toolbar be added?

Using Jamroom

These notes can be written by going to a Notes tab in the Global Config panel of the User Module. They are potentially very useful. I have already started to use them. But there is no WYSIWYG editor in the field for entering a Signup or Login Note.

HTML is "allowed", so does this mean we have to write the HTML code directly into the field, to format the content?

A popup support statement might be good here - or an editor toolbar.

Information in the module update notice:
"New: "Login Note" global config setting to set a custom note (HTML allowed) on the login form -
New: "Signup Note" global config setting to set a custom note (HTML allowed) on the signup form"

How to create an email address for the user Support tickets module?

Using Jamroom

I am trying to set up the Support tickets module for my site users. In the Documentation for this module the following advice appears:

"Support From Email - Set this to the email address that you want your support tickets to be sent FROM. It is highly recommended that this be set to an email address for your domain (i.e. support@yourdomain.com) - ...This Email address does not need to be the same email address as an admin account."

How do we create an email address like this?

If we follow the pattern suggested (support@yourdomain.com) and enter this into the Support module set up in ACP, will it thus come into existence? If so, this should be explained. Do we have to set this up somewhere else? If so, can the Support module documentation provide a link to instructions for setting up new email addresses?

Thanks, Peter

Updating an earlier skin with the Ningja skin

Design and Skin Customization

That did happen - all instances did get the new skin name. But then I probably changed some of them back to the NingJa name when the template lines were highlighted in the compare tool.

Now I realize that template lines with the custom skin name get highlighted even though that skin name should not be "updated". When we download an update to the original skin, the compare tool cannot know that we do not want to "update" our custom skin name.

So it seems I need to go back and make sure that my own custom skin (the active skin) name is used everywhere inside the new skin.

Would it be possible to tell the compare tool to ignore certain strings, such as the skin name, when looking for differences between our custom skin and the updates from jr? Or is this a bad idea?

Thanks

Updating an earlier skin with the Ningja skin

Design and Skin Customization

When we see a skin name in the updated skin, should this be copied over into a cloned skin, or do we have to manually replace it with our own skin name?

e.g. when I see the snippet below, do I need to change jrNinja to psNingJaClone (the name of my cloned skin)?

What happens if I don't, and what happens if I do?

Thanks, P.

Updating an earlier skin with the Ningja skin

Grrr... what is wrong with my head?! There it is of course. Thanks.

The popup tells me I already have a license, so all I need to do is install it.

Thanks, Peter

When I go to ACP, select the Marketplace module, and search for "jrNinja" I get this result:

search results for "jrNinja"

Updating an earlier skin with the Ningja skin

Design and Skin Customization

Recently I learned about the renaming of an earlier skin to Ninja.

What is the process for incorporating Ninja into an existing site that uses NingJa?

The last version of NingJa that I have in my site is v. 1.2.0

The Ninja Skin changelog at Jamroom.net indicates that the latest version is Version 2.0.4.

What am I missing? I cannot find Ninja in the Marketplace in the ACP of my site.

Have other NingJa users moved to Ninja? How did they do this?

Do Jamroom sites use cookies?

Using Jamroom

Hmmm... I think Michael's suggested footnote may be adequate for my site for now. Thanks all.
