Invitations module not working for users after recent updates?

Anyone else having this issue with invitations, my users say they create an event, go to invitations create invitations for event and try to select followers from the list to send invite too but the followers box is empty?
i just tried to recreate it using a test dummy profile since my admin profile seems to have no issue with it and in the test i wasnt able to invite to an event i created but i was able to invite to my profile and saw the followers so i dont know if this is a glitch in the system or something messed up in my quotas or what?
