In Ning, members of Groups could receive notification emails any time any update was made to the Group.
On my Jamroom site, I have moved an important bit of functionality out of a Group and into a Forum. However, this means - as far as I can tell - that members only receive notifications of updates to Forum posts that they have either created or that they have commented on.
Looking through the various config options it's not apparent that it's possible to "subscribe" to a forum.
Is it? If not, I think it would be a great new feature that I know many of my members - especially those interested in my Classifieds Forum - would be interested in. I also happen to think that it would be useful generally, not just to me.

Multiple profiles/accounts
Using Jamroom
I have created a second profile (without its own account) associated with an existing account and profile.
I want to attach other members to this second profile.
Is this possible? How? Read the concepts admins need to know and the steps are not there.

If you take a look at the home page of TheChocolateLife.com you will see that I narrowed the "About" blog and added a right-hand column that contains two ads served up by Broadstreet.
What Strumelia suggests is a great approach if you need a block with styled text and you want to edit it with a WYSIWYG editor. However, if what you want to do is insert code for a 3rd party ad server then here is the approach I used.
It might not be the most elegant or concise bit of code, but it works. The key, as either Michael or Brian explained to me, is the use of {literal} {/literal}. This will mean that the parser will ignore what's inside.

The Broadsreet server requires support scripts to be loaded in in the head to work, and those are put in meta.tpl.

Okay - now that I have submitted a sitemap and Google has started crawling I am getting "not found" crawl errors (over 2000!).
In some cases I can go and find the new page but in many cases it's impossible. Even when I can find them I don't think that there's any way for me to find where the bad URL is and fix it.
Here's one where I can find the image in question:
photo/sesame-ginger-truffles?xg_source=activity
I searched Images for "sesame" and found it - so I know how to change the URL if I could find the broken one.
Any thoughts on ways to proceed? I am not going to be able to fix all of them, but do want to eliminate as many 404s as possible.

New "Kickbox" Email Validation module

I am in no hurry to validate my list, so I noticed that I can purchase a 500/day monthly subscription for $30 that will process 15,000 names - or purchase 10,000 for $70.
So - something to consider is that tradeoff. Might be cheaper to go with a monthly subscription and take a couple of days to process the list rather than buy them outright.
empty sitemap?
Installation and Configuration
Now that the basics are done, I am updating the site for Google Webmaster tools.
Google said there was no sitemap though I have had the sitemap generator module up and running since day one more or less (2 months?).
I looked via FTP and there was no sitemap.xml in root.
I went to the URL https://www.thechocolatelife.com/sitemap.xml
The sitemap was empty:
<sitemapindex> </sitemapindex>
So I ran the tool manually. The module report says that it updated over 8000 profile pages. In under 10 seconds? Not one other type of page.
Sitemap now consists of about a dozen entries that look like the following, just timestamps:

Still no visible sitemap.xml file in root.

okay, I was able to modify the query:
item_id 10396
I went to the jrForum datastore browser and searched for 10396 - no results.
Searched for %Their wording on the website makes% and it's a comment (see attached photo).
