However during the checkout process it asked me to type in all of my account information and create a password. I believe your configurations are wrong here:
One shot in the dark from me would be.. Is your store set up correctly? Is your subscription to FoxyCart Active? If not your store is running in "test" mode. Is this the problem you are experiencing?
Have you ran an integrity check or system check lately?
