Who do I contact to even get a quote? :) It's not that I mind doing it, I would prefer to do it myself, but I think the set up is over my head.

I would like to duplicate as much as possible from my current site in look and function.

2 - Member category for just sellers. Only members with permission via member categories can post in the photo gallery. Ning allows us to assign areas to members based on the category they are in.

3 - Profile pages with ability for some customization.

4 - Site wide photo gallery with search and or tags and categories (so that it's easy for shoppers)

5 - Site wide forums. I have three, but one is fine as long as I can have many categories to cover these three areas

http://thevintagevillage.com/main-forum
http://thevintagevillage.com/AVC-info
http://thevintagevillage.com/shop-talk

6 - Groups (open and private)

I can make a JR support person admin on my Ning site if that would help.

How do I go about hiring someone here from JR support to set up the site for me?

I think it's too much for me to do by myself.

great advice!!!! :)

I am so gun shy right now because the move to 3.0 was so hard on them. They were patient for a little while but when months went by and Ning still had not fulfilled it's programming, people started to leave and the ones who stayed are not active. I have a core of about maybe 60 people who are active out of over 3K. Ning just killed our community with the 3.0 failure. HUGS Strumelia... :)

wonderful.... I am torn between starting fresh and importing my 2.0 json files.

I have gotten rid of so much to conform to 3.0 set up that I am not sure I want to weed through all that again. But at the same time that means traffic would be low cause the site content would have to build back up again.

Thanks so much for all your support Strumelia and JR admin. You have no idea how much it will mean to me and sooooo many others to be on a site that actually works.

I am afraid to import anything because I am not ready to MOVE to JR just yet. If I fill out the global config for the ning import, it says
____________
Enter the system name of the Ning site you are importing from. This will be used in the email that is sent to all Ning members after import to notify them of their new login credentials.
____________

but I am not ready to move members yet.

well... I loaded it to the site... it sort of worked a little...

I am wondering if I should add my 2.0 stuff and just take time to weed out what is no longer wanted.

Hmmm I didn't think I could use that cause I am not "migrating". I am going to start from scratch.

BUT>>>> if I can copy the set up, that would be awesome.
