RE: Migration from Ning 3.0

Ning To Jamroom

Understood:) For my part there are many things that I will continue to use Joomla for BUT social is not one of them. I have looked at Easysocial, JomSocial, CB etc and while they all have potential I have not seen anything that compares to Jamroom. Upon reflection it might be altogether better if I were to keep my social site members out of the Joomla site (Joomla ACL's are a major headache anyway) and continue to develop that as a 'Magazine' site alongside the Jamroom site.

The quotas feature you outlined above is very interesting indeed. Looking forward to experimenting with it.

RE: Migration from Ning 3.0

Ning To Jamroom

Another quick question....I see there has been much talk in the past on various forums about a Jamroom Joomla bridge. Does one exist? I have a large bookstore site on Joomla and would love to replace my Ning social site with a Jamroom site that was integrated with the Joomla site.

RE: Migration from Ning 3.0

Ning To Jamroom

I currently have a Ning 3.0 site which I migrated from 2.0 a while back. It's clear that the platform doesn't have a future so I am thinking of migrating. I appreciate that I will have to wait for the 3.0 archiver ( which I understand is due soon ) before I can start the process.

My question is......is there anything I could usefully be doing now to prepare and if so what?
