ERROR - Profile Images and icons since last update

Using Jamroom

Hi, I just applied all the recents updates on my pennywhistleclub .com site, and am experiencing the same black and white generic profile images as Ken above was. I followed Paul's instructions and reloaded the image support module and cleared cache etc, but that did not solve.
I should note that years ago I REPLACED the generic image on my server that was called "default.png" with my own custom image that I also called "default.com". That has worked fine until now, and I know my custom .png is still there on the server where i put it- have not moved anything. But now after the updates the generic image is showing for members who have not uploaded their own avatars.
What to do now? (it's only happening on my pennywhistle site which is the site I updated as a test. I have not yet updated my more important site fotmd .com yet.)
p.s. here attached is the custom profile avatar I have as "default.png" on my server for that site...

Chat error for some members

Using Jamroom

Michael I will run all the jamroom the updates tomorrow- I never like to run updates when I'm sleepy and ready for bed, in case something weird happens.
Those members are prob asleep too anyway.
THANK YOU, I will report back here tomorrow with results. =8-D

Really, you can see a bug? Gosh that would be terrific!
(guess i'll have to apply the latest JR updates once you've put out the fix, I can do that when you tell me you've squashed the bug. Yikes, you're good. (insert emoji of little jalapeno man dancing around)

Chat error for some members

Using Jamroom

I just asked them to log out and then log back in , and to then try the chat on their laptops. But it's midnight here, so will likely need to continue this tomorrow. Thanks Michael!

p.s. btw I have not applied the most recent updates to my sites yet, just in case that's relevant. :)

Chat error for some members

Using Jamroom

Yes, the default room is "Hello All" and not sure why they are not there. Other people (including me) get sent to the Hello All room right off the bat.

Yes, I asked them to go to the top dropdown arrow and SELECT the Hello All room. The one guy replied:
"The SQL error is what I got from the 'select room' dropdown."
Kind of puzzling.

Chat error for some members

Using Jamroom

Couple other factors- I and another moderator on my site are having no prob with chat. The moderator is on Windows 10 and using either Google or Firefox. I have no problems on win10 laptop using chrome, firefox, and Edge, and also I have no trouble on Mac using safari, chrome, firefox.
Needless to say I'm not about to download Linux or Opera in order to test this, nor will I be testing it on IE. ;) lolol

The last detail is that I have the chat disabled on my site's mobile version. But I don't 'think' that effects this situation, because if it did then those guys shouldn't be seeing the chat button at all.
Any ideas based on their error message?

Chat error for some members

Using Jamroom

Hi, I have a couple of members reporting to me that they get an error message when they click on the Chat button on my site.
One guy getting the error is on his 2 Linux notebooks using Opera and Chromium, and the other guy on this setup: "private (Linux) and office notebook (Windows) in Firefox, Chrome and Edge (both notebooks) . Even Internet Explorer on Windows. Everywhere I got the SQL error."
See this screenshot of the error message they are getting, I would love to know what it suggests as a clue...

Ning Archive

Ning To Jamroom

I don't think they ever even created a download/archiving tool for Ning3 sites... only the old ning2 sites had it, and yes Ning no longer supports the tool- it's very unstable if it even works at all anymore. If you can pull a newish ning archive you are lucky.

phone version of tinymce text editor is limited?

Using Jamroom

P.S. Michael- about Soundslice...
I checked into it and it seems super cool!
Unfortunately it does not yet support mountain dulcimer tunings and tab. Mtn dulcimer players are very set in their ways concerning following the accepted form of dulcimer tab that's pretty heavily depended on by most beginners. I'd say about 60% of my members are beginner players, so there would be some major frustrations if i integrated this on my site before it offered a dulcimer option like it currently has with violin, guitar, piano, voice, clarinet, etc.

Here is the one dulcimer player who took the time to make some helpful comments about this issue:
https://www.soundslice.com/slices/hT9Vc/?from=channel
It shows me that it's probably best to wait until soundslice has set up a mountain dulcimer tab option.
Thanks, I'll keep an eye on this, it looks like something people love!

Yes it *IS* working as I hoped, Michael!
My silly mistake was that i changed the code on my pennywhistle site, but then checked to see if it was working... on my fotmd site. D'ohhhh!!
Yes this works great, and does not seem to mess up stuff at all.
Thank you!- I know my members will appreciate being able to embed images, edit links, and tweak the text a little when on their phones. (hopefully they won't be confused by the 'attach file' button being in the initial grey box area.)
Much appreciated, i know you are busy. :D
I'll go fix this on my fotmd site and remove the "Here i am".
Solved!
