creating an unlisted admin Page

Using Jamroom

#1- done, new header menu links made... ok!
#2- Great!- giant yellow buttons nicely hidden until I need them again.
#3- Oooh... ok I got the 'drag to right to create a sub link' thing down now. Yay!

Looks like I got this thing figured out and can create my page of (whatever) info, and I can keep it unlisted with no links or link to it anyplace, as per my various needs.

Thank you ! :)
I guess once you understand a couple unfamiliar things within the initial premise, the SiteBuilder thing is handy to create some pages. I still don't quite get why SB-created pages 'disappear' when SB module is disabled though, while the rest of the site remains the same. Why wouldn't the pages be permanently there to be seen after being created/saved/published ...regardless of the SB module being activated? That's the only aspect that seems kind of a bummer... but I must be missing some reason why that's desirable.

Send Me a Private Note Button

Design and Skin Customization

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this.

@boplive - In my active skin's profile_sidebar template:

1- I removed the extra space before class="email". I did not produce any changes and the icon still functions correctly but the annoying outline is still there around the envelope jpg icon. I left it with the extra space removed, since nobody needs extra spaces.
2- I then added the x you suggested making it xemail, and cleared cache etc. Nothing changed... the icon still functions correctly in pulling up an emailing form to contact the member... but the CURSED grey icon outline remains.
3- I then tried removing the class="email" part altogether. Nothing changed and the icon remained (with the outline) and it still functioned correctly in pulling up a private message form. So I put the class="email" back again so as not to get too confusing. Maybe this is a clue, that the control over this icon image lies elsewhere?

I'd love to put this little feature on my main active site on everyone's profile page, but it'd be too embarrassing with that fugly off-centered grey outline around the envelope image ! >:-(

How the heck do I get rid of it? Surely someone has seen this sort of grey outline around an icon image before and knows why it appears...?

michael:

.....Wouldn't SB then change my site's current index page and menus if I activated it though? Would it make unwanted changes to my site if all I did was use it to make some new pages?...
nope, turn it on and all that happens is you get a couple of extra buttons show up on your home page. From there you can choose to override the page or not. And if you do decide to override the page, you can delete the page and go back to what you had.

Ok I've been fooling with trying to make a little page using Sitebuilder to sell some pinback buttons.

As soon as I activated the SB module, most of the top menu links on my site's Home page disappeared...even to non logged in people and to regular members. Yet I had not even created any pages yet! (hmm...I thought you said the only thing that would change is getting the new two SB buttons at bottom of home page?)

So I figured I could use SB to build the new page, then turn it off (to get my menu links back) once I had the new page and its URL in place.
But no such luck- after successfully creating the new button-selling page, I turned off SB again and the new page is no longer accessible or visible when going to its url. :( The new page reappears if I turn SB back on, but then... I have to look at those new big yellow SB buttons in my face all the time and I have to apparently rebuild all the header menu links one by one. Is this correct?
Does this mean the only way I can keep (and use) new pages that were built in SB is to keep SB turned on ...forever? Probably I'm naive, but it strikes me as odd- like the pages I make ONLY actually exist in a SB 'alternate universe' that has an open/close portal people have to go through in order to see things there? =8-\

Right now I have SB activated, and the new page (which I don't need to link to in the header menu) is here:
https://pennywhistleclub.com/fotmdbuttons

So my BIG question is this:
If I want to point people from any other location to that new page using a link, will they NOT be able to see/use the page UNLESS I always keep SiteBuilder module ENABLED on my site ?

My lesser secondary question is concerning when i'm (now) trying to rebuild the now missing header menu links on my Home page from within SB. I've added most of the links already and they function, but I can't see where/how to create a header link drop down, where the only clickable links comes as dropdown choices once you hover over the main link, like in the following screenshot from my other site (without SB enabled):

Members of a Group no longer visible after recent updates

Using Jamroom

Not sure if this happened after the MOST recent updates, or maybe from the updates before that, but when I'm logged in as Admin AND when I'm logged in as a regular member, I can no longer see the group members (avatars) showing in their grid in the right column, OR in the 'view all' members page. They should all be showing under 'members'. Doesn't seem to matter whether I'm a group member or not (and I should not have to be a group member to see them).
This is a new thing, seems to have occurred on both my sites after recent updates.

See these two pages as an example, in a Group that has over a thousand members on my site:

In the right hand column widget (titled "Members") of the Group's MAIN page here:
https://fotmd.com/strumelia/group/1/beginner-players
and when clicking to 'view all' the group members, here:

Is it possible to use the Mailgun list of "Bounces and Failures" to move unused accounts offline, or out?

Using Jamroom

True! In fact I printed out the changelog for the User Accounts Module right before updating, so I could look through it carefully after the update concerning the new features I should check out. :D

Change the icon size of the user images

Design and Skin Customization

Michael I got PSPad (free) and I find it relatively intuitive for my level. It can compare two panes of codes, search, connect via FTP to a server, find errors, and do lots of stuff I still totally don't understand. But I've used it regularly to compare two code files, and to make .css changes to a file.

What I wonder is-

1) from where/what ...do you actually download you entire site code from your server to keep your copy on your local computer? If so, do you download the whole works?- for me that would include thousands of member videos and photos etc, many GB...? Or are you selecting only CERTAIN folders containing code to download from the server?

2) does turning on the 'template name in source' tool carry over into the code you download from your server and then view in your Phpstorm viewer on your local disk?

thanks for sharing your knowledge!

WARNING: Mailgun Phishing attempt

Announcements

I've been getting several fake Mailgun support emails per week for the past month or two. Mostly asking me to click on a link to go 'verify my account', OR saying "action required" with some blabber about being unable to process my mail 'campaign' because my account was set to be suspended, and of course to 'click the link below' to log in to my (fake) Mailgun account.

Never, ever, ever click on a link in an email to 'go to your account' with some company... not for Mailgun, Google, Paypal, banks, or credit cards etc. etc. The phony emails can look very authentic.

ALWAYS instead go to your OWN bookmark or link to log into the company site fresh (or simply start from the main site to login, like Mailgun.com) if you feel the need to check whether there really IS a problem with your account ...as the email claims. Same thing goes for calling phone numbers sent to you from scammers disguised as your trusted secure site you have an account with.

Yes I usually do your #2 process, though I do a whole lot of bumbling about due to my low skill level. But I can get it done that way about 50% of the time now... simple stuff like changing sizes, colors, number of things, or reversing order etc.

Can you briefly tell me where I would go to "do a search over the database code" ?
Do you mean somewhere within the Datastore Browser? (ACP/Core module/SystemCore/Tools/Datastorebrowser)

glitch when creating "@" mentions ?

How odd!
Michael, thank you for figuring out what was going on and for putting in a FIX in the next Core update... something to look forward to, definitely! :D I must remember to check how it works after the next core update.
