not sure where to increase Group Discuss font size

Using Jamroom

PJ, have you also checked to see your general site font size setting in site.css style tabs?

I too wondered what the 'ranking' thing meant.
I approach it this way- if i find some area of my site that has text that's uncomfortably small to read, then I go after that particular setting rather than try to make all text settings consistent. My 'default' for ease of reading is 14pt, so over time most text settings wind up being that unless I've set larger titles.

Can Vimeos play in a post ?

Just a final update to this, to help future people who might have the same problem and be searching for answers...

On windows, I didn't get results from pasting 'as plain text' option on right click pasting. (seems to work on Macs though)
What I found worked for me on windows is the TinyMCE 'Remove Formatting' button on my site's text editor window. You may have that button already, if not you can add it to the TinyMCE toolbar for your site.
Here's a pic of the steps that will solve this 'pasted url of Vimeo videos' issue on my site:

Can Vimeos play in a post ?

Using Jamroom

Ok i think i understand Paul.
Happily, my members don't seem to very often need to post a Vimeo video into a forum post that 'has to' play right there. I can tell my 6 moderators to remember this about the plain text pasting, and hopefully when someone complains about it in future, we'll at least know how to work around it and get results. Maybe one day an update will resolve the issue.. or Vimeo will go out of business.. lol.
Thank you so much for taking the time to delve into this.. it sure was mystifying for a while there!
I'll mark this finished.

Can Vimeos play in a post ?

Hi Douglas, I do have the Media URL Scanner module activated, and also have its 'expanded media' box checked. The pasted url converts to a player in a forum post for YT videos, but not for Vimeo videos.
See here where the member and also my moderator tried pasting the Vimeo url into a post...it only produces a text hotlink:

Can Vimeos play in a post ?

Using Jamroom

That's not quite what I mean Paul.
I have a member who added a Vimeo video to my site that does not meet our guidelines to be in our video section, so I removed it. I suggested to him that he could instead embed it in a forum discussion post and that the video would show up and play right there in the post.
So...
The video in question is not accessible by the usual 'embed local media' button in the text editor window, --> since it's not 'local', it exists only on Vimeo, not on our site. Knowing that,....

Yes, he could simply paste the URL to the video into his post, and it'd be a hotlink bringing people to his Vimeo page.
Now when someone does that url pasting thang with any YOUTUBE video url, the text editor converts it into a player that will show and play the video right there in the post without being taken off site.
This does not seem to work when pasting an url for a vimeo video however...it only shows up as the dry text link, not live in a player within the post. This is what I'm asking about.
Is there a setting or simple code I could add that would do the same for Vimeo videos as currently happens for YT videos?

Can Vimeos play in a post ?

I know when I copy/paste the URL for a Youtube video into a post, it'll present the video as playable right there in the forum or group post. (without the video having to be added to the jr site as 'local embed')

Is this url-pasting "play it right in the post" feature something I can activate easily for Vimeo videos as well?

I love when things can be so easily fixed. :)
(and thanks Paul for pointing me to that particular .css file... it should have been obvious to me but I didn't see it there in the list.)

Not sure what was going on when you did that Michael .... but when I did what Paul suggested it fixed things and now the forums text and the Groups text look to be both the same, both 14pt and easy to read.

Funny, I thought to check in my skin's style files for site.css, html.css, and jrgroupdiscuss.css.... but somehow I didn't notice the text.css. Duh!

Michael I see the screenshot of what you did overlapping, and though it clearly is the same size there, I'm sure somehow the images must have been resized or something along the way. I am absolutely sure the Group posts text was more cramped and smaller- it was making me squint and was very noticable when switching between Forums and Groups discussions.
But all is well now- uniform and easy on the eyes.
I have no idea how this discrepancy happened, but I remember suddenly noticing a few weeks ago or so. I didn't make any text changes but perhaps one of the updates did something obscure.

Thank you both!

not sure where to increase Group Discuss font size

Hi,
I've noticed recently that my font size in Group discussion posts has seemed just a little smaller than the font size in my Forums discussion posts. I've looked all over the place to adjust this so they can both be the same size as in my Forums discussions, but I can't seem to find exactly where to adjust this.
Here's a screenshot from both a Forum discussion and a Group discussion... you can see the Group font is just a tiny bit smaller... but it's just smaller enough to make it harder to read without squinting (for me anyway):
