avatars in 'followers' sidebar look pixilated

Using Jamroom

On my site's profile pages, I have a left sidebar with "My Latest Followers" showing as a grid of avatars. These avatars used to be nice and clear, as they are elsewhere on the site. Now as of this week they are blurry and pixelated. See screenshot. This seems to be happening only in that profile page sidebar, not on my actual /follow pages.
I remember this happened once before several years ago, but I can't find that old thread where it got fixed, sorry.

my private message system has a problem

Using Jamroom

Because I'm my site's master admin, I don't experience this issue unless I'm logged in as a regular member... so i didn't notice a problem til a member wrote me... I think this has been going on since my last round of updates.

Even though i have my private notes module set with the "members can message only followers" checkbox NOT checked, it seems my regular members can now only PM their Followers. This is a change from how it was working before, when I had it so all members could PM all members regardless of Follower status. Now, member names will not pop up in autofill when composing messages, unless that person is following you.
(when logged in as an admin, I can PM all members so can't see this happening as strumelia)
I have a profile I created that is a true regular member quota, and it has about 6 followers- and those are the only names I can PM when I;m logged in as that profile. This is the same as a member wrote to tell me what was happening to them... whereas previously they had no probs PM'ing anyone (they are a 'greeter' on my site so they often write to other members) That member who wrote me has LOTS of followers, so they only tend to notice this issue with new members who are not following them yet.

JR Devs- perhaps you can see this happen on your demo sites. If not, let me know and I'll open a ticket and give you the login info for my test member that's in the regular member quota so you can see it clearly.
Thanks!

Group discussions no longer ordered by most recent posts

Using Jamroom

Ok will do Paul. Thanks so much for jumping into this so quickly and working on it!
I don't know if anything triggered it this time- a member reported it this morning again. And I've not been doing anything out of the ordinary/usual on my sites at all.

Hi,
I'm afraid my Group discussions have re-scrambled their order again.

Soaring, no my "comment back" code is not causing the tinymce editor to not load. I'm not having a problem.
However I can't be sure if my 'comment back' code is exactly the same as yours that you posted in your other thread.
Can you tell me which template, in which module, you have that code posted in? Then I could look for my commentback code and post it there for you to compare and maybe find that we are using slightly different custom codes for that? Or, I could simply post my template's code so you could look for differences. Which template are we talking about here, and in which module? (it's been a long time since I fiddled with this)

soaringeagle:
i think its some custom, code i use for a comment back button (on profiles only)
which really should be a default since so many dont understand and commentr on their own page in reply which never gives you a notice
Yes I added that hotlink "comment back" feature as well, years ago. I agree that it should be the default. Makes for a far better activity experience, and helps guide members how to logically navigate and communicate on our sites.

Group discussions no longer ordered by most recent posts

Using Jamroom

Paul, as usual, you are a genius. :D
Yes everything looks back to as it should be again... YAY!

Can you please tell me:
1) did this happen when that big batch of updates was applied- was it an update glitch in one of the modules- which module?

2) where can I see the 'tool' you temporarily installed? And... can i remove the tool once the next module release comes out? Or should i just leave your temp tool there. Which module release would the new fix be in?

Big hug!

Group discussions no longer ordered by most recent posts

Using Jamroom

I have not transferred or done anything else to group discussions lately. This change was noticed by a member shortly after I applied a whole slew of recent JR updates (though I have not yet applied the newest ones from like last 2 weeks). So, the timing seems to indicate that it was connected to the updates, and I have not made site changes lately. But we can't be sure til we know exactly what caused it.
Thanks so much for your time and efforts to help fix this up!

Group discussions no longer ordered by most recent posts

Using Jamroom

Paul, no the pinned are not confusing me.
I tested too, and now when I post in a group discussion it DOES take the discussion to the top as it should.
However the problem is that when the latest updates were applied, they randomly ordered all the group discussions up to that point. Many members can now no longer find discussions that had been recent (until the updates)- since now those discussions are buried within other pages of incorrectly ordered discussions.. some discussions go back eight or ten years. This is not the end of the world, but is a problem and frustration in larger groups with many older discussions.
Is there any way to RE-ORDER all group discussions at this point in time now, so that they are once again in correct order- from discussions with most recent activity to discussions with most long ago activity?

Here is an example of the problem, in my Beginner Players Group:
https://fotmd.com/strumelia/group/1/beginner-players
The pinned discussions are on top as expected. Any discussions that have had posts SINCE the update scrambled everything are also at top.
But ALL discussions before the update which used to be in correct order are now seemingly random.
See this one which has not had activity for 7 years now:
https://fotmd.com/strumelia/group_discuss/377/for-noter-drone-beginners-playing-from-music-rather-than-tab
....it's way above in the list compared to this discussion which was started just 4 months ago in June and had its last post in July:
https://fotmd.com/strumelia/group_discuss/2687/pick-thickness

This ordering makes no sense to me. However, as you go into older pages of discussions, there is a 'general' tendency to order them with oldest last. But the 'newer' pages, especially pages 1 and 2 of the discussions, make less sense. What the heck?? I do know that this happened suddenly, seemingly right at the time of my applying that large number of JR updates last time around.
Any clue as to what happened or how to now 'force' a RE-order of them by date of last post?
