Upgrading from very old Site Builder

Using Jamroom

Ok - I'll give it a bash at some stage soon. If I remember correctly, it should import all the menus and sub menus, shouldn't it, even if they need reformatting...?

Upgrading from very old Site Builder

Using Jamroom

Due to a lack of time, I am still on a very old build of Site Builder (Construction Kit era), and although I know I need to upgrade, I am worried about my menus.

I have *a lot* of menus and sub menus, by necessity, and I'm wondering whether these will import well, and how much tidying up will be required afterwards.

Is there anything I can do to smooth the transition? Even getting a virtual copy of all the current menu items and links in case it all goes less well than planned?

All tips appreciated - you can see the existing menu structure at ourtownstory.co.uk if it helps to see the volume of menu items!

Hi, Paul!

Just under 100 user profiles, and 43,000 linked profiles! It's only the user profiles I want.....

Cannot export User CSV file...

Using Jamroom

Thanks - good to know it's just me! I have a vast quantity of linked profiles, but not user profiles. Not been an issue before, but could be now....!

Cannot export User CSV file...

Using Jamroom

Evening, all!

Just tried to export the User info via the 'Export as CSV' button, but nothing doing. Browser throws up a 'cannot find the file at...' error. Always been fine in the past, but probably haven't done it since January.

Error log reports this each time:

[04-Mar-2016 21:18:15 Europe/Dublin] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 135270401 bytes) in /home/mydomain/public_html/modules/jrCore-release-5.3.1/lib/util.php on line 3237 [1]

Seems like it's saying it's out of memory, but I've probably got less than 100 users....

Any thoughts, etc.

Server reporting disk full....

Using Jamroom

Yes, popped it in Maintenance Mode overnight. Had a look this morning, and the issue is persisting. Looking on the server, Jamroom has created new cache directories in /data/cache/jrImage, as well as for jrCore, jrSitemap and jrSlate. Permissions are 0755 for the folders and 0644 for the files.

No errors showing at all in the Jamroom logs or in the cPanel logs. Only thing I have noticed is that the site seems slower than usual but a) that's nothing new for Arvixe, and b) the cache has obviously been recently deleted.

I'll send my admin login to the support address just in case you want to look 'inside'.....

Server reporting disk full....

Using Jamroom

Ok - thank you - just noticed that the same issue exists with profile timeline pages, too. I'll look into the directory stuff in the morning. I did delete the cache folders as per the 'Something's wrong - what do I do? - page, so they might not be there now. I'll check the cPanel in the morning.

Not quite sure what to look for, but I'll check the permissions - certainly haven't looked at them since I set it all up!

Server reporting disk full....

Using Jamroom

Thanks, Michael - I thought I'd seen something like that somewhere - I'll have a cleanup.

That said, all is still not quite right. Even after a full integrity check, there is a problem with (at least) the gallery image detail pages, and some thumbnails, particularly some profile pics and, for example in the 'Recently rated' sidebar.

You can see here -http://ourtownstory.co.uk/iamtimbo/gallery/dorset-miscellaneous/all - that there are plenty of pictures in this gallery, some of them have been there for months. But notice that my profile pic is missing. Click on one of the gallery images to see the detail, and nothing shows at all - and on the left in the sidebar, most of the thumbnails are missing.

There are no errors showing at present, but from When the system went down earlier, there are 4 notes in the activity log saying:

jrCore_get_module_cache_dir: unable to create cache directory: jrImage

so it does seem like there may be an issue with images somewhere. It's too late for me to go into it now, but I'm not quite sure what's going on....

Obviously, having written all that, it's just come back to life again. Nothing in the logs to suggest a Jamroom issue.

Server reporting disk full....

Using Jamroom

Firstly, this *could* be an Arvixe screwup, but just to check I've done all I can this end....

Site is currently inaccessible (blank page), although just before it went down, I saw a couple of errors about not being able to write certain files to the cache. Visiting the cPanel generates this error:

The filesystem mounted at /home/sitename on this server is running out of disk space. cPanel operations have been temporarily suspended to prevent something bad from happening. Please ask your system admin to remove any files not in use on that partition.

I would understand if I *had* got a lot of stuff, or wasn't on an unlimited plan, but having not really got up steam yet, there's barely anything on there in terms of big data - say 150/200 photos.

Well, to be sure, I manually deleted the cache via FTP, and ran the tools as per the 'Something's wrong - what do I do?' page to perform an Integrity Check etc. No change. The only 'unnecessary' files I have are the old versions of modules (can I delete those?), and the only non-Jamroom files are a couple of GIFs in a folder that I store for access by another website. I've done no work on the site today, and it's been fine until this evening.

I can't access any logs via the ACP.

All thoughts welcomed, etc. etc.
