I don't know how many other sites on Ning are private but I'm sure some are set up as by invitation only. Probably because creators want that level of control because of spam, copyright infringement etc. So this is something I want. On my current site it's done at sign in, if the person doesn't have a profile on my site then they can't sign-in (log-in). I then receive an email that someone has attempted to sign into my site that doesn't have a profile on the site.
My ideal would be to have a members section on my site where members need to log-in, in order to see the content and also have a couple of public pages that would allow friends and interested people to see the mosaics and perhaps that could turn into a little "gallery" giving me a bit of profit

Can sites be set up as invitation only?
If a profile page is set to 'followers', you can then invite people to follow you.
I should have said can the entire site be set up as private not public and new members are included by invitation from current members. It's a little confusing for a social media site I know but one of the nice things about my site is that the artists feel "safe" as far as their work being copied. So it's just for mosaic artist but I want to control that

I'm new to jamroom and have lots of questions after a day of searching.
How do I find the admin dashboard?
Can members set up their on pages?
Can the shopping cart be removed from members pages?
Can certain pages on jamroom be private?
Can sites be set up as invitation only?
OK..that's it for now. Off to a glass of wine.
