comments error

Using Jamroom

I was just seeing an issue with comments here on Jamroom.net - not sure if it is related? I posted a comment on one of Paul's sites, and when I went back to the page, it the comment wasn't showing. I entered another comment, and then both my original comment and the new comment loaded.

brian:unfortunately no - I may end up having to completely scrap the read/unread as it seems that every day new corner cases are uncovered - I'm not sure if it will ever work properly due to the number of different routes that can be taken into and out of topics (categories, indexes, breadcrumbs, direct, etc.) - it's already a fairly complicated mix of DB storage and session variables, and at this point I'm going to say it is "good enough" for now. Sorry!

No worries then - could have just been a hiccup anyways.

Quote: No - this forum does not work that way - it will remember between log outs.

Hope this helps!

This is awesome! Thanks :)

Not sure if you're working on it at the moment or not, but I just had a bunch of "unread" posts all the sudden get marked as read - not sure how. I was on page 2 of the "using jamroom" forum reading a topic and I clicked on the "page 2" breadcrumb - all the topics on the page were showing as read (previously having been "unread"). I refreshed the page, and the topics then showed correctly for being unread. I went into another thread to read it, hit the page 2 breadcrumb again, and the topics were back to being all marked as read. When I hit refresh this time, though, instead of reverting back to unread, they just stayed as read :/

Any ideas?

One other question - on phpbb2, if you logged in, posts that were unread since your last login showed as unread. If you logged out and logged in again, those posts no longer showed as unread. Does this forum work that way? or will should any unread posts remain unread until they've actually been read? (haven't bothered to try - just asking)

Thanks!

Kyle

Don't wanna push my luck here, but any chance we could get a last post timestamp on the forum index? (that lists the subforums)

If not, no biggie - thanks!

got it! very cool!

Are all those items new? or were some of them updated? If the latter, it would be cool if the release notes were included for the updated items (description is good for new ones).
